This dog is a barking dog. Skye Terriers are also avid diggers. They are tough and tenacious and require a lot of attention. Skye will also chase cats relentlessly. This dog is difficult to train, stubborn and does not get along with other dogs. They have long flowing hair that requires grooming or can become tangled and matted. On the positive side, Skye Terriers can be very loyal. One Skye slept on the grave of her dead owner for 14 years straight. Skye Terriers are a medium intelligence breed that originated on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. They were bred as working terriers and used to hunt foxes, badgers and otters. They were highly valued during the Victorian era as pets for the nobility after Queen Victoria acquired one. One Skye, named Rona II, even had her portrait taken with the Queen. Since then, this breed has become one of the least known terriers.
