8. Bull Terrier

The Bull Terrier is best known for Bullseye, the mascot for Target. Some may remember him as Budweiser's lively Spuds Mac Kenzie. However, the beloved Bull Terrier is also a breed that is not recommended for first-time dog owners. This dog began breeding in the 1900s, but it wasn't until 1936 that it was recognized as a separate breed.
Sure, Bull Terriers are fun-loving, fearless, clownish, active, and obedient, but they are not recommended for all homes. If left alone without enough exercise and mental stimulation, they can become destructive and dangerous to small children. They need supervised entertainment, such as running and playing every day. They are very strong dogs, with jaw strength similar to that of a pit bull. They should be kept away from other pets, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and cats.
